Scarves was considered to be a basic commodity for people living in the past.  People used to wear clothing to protect themselves from adverse climatic conditions.  But with the development in Socio-economic conditions and improved quality of living, people started considering clothing as a prestige item in society.With the developing conditions in the society combined with the changing fashion trends there is a revolutionary change in the dressing style and wearing of accessories to enhance the current fashion.Previously, scarves made of cotton or wool were worn as protection from cold climates.

Scarves were worn along with heavy clothing.  Scarves protected the exposed skin areas from the extreme cold conditions.Slowly with the boom in the textile industry, there was created a competition.

People started understanding the importance of looking different and unique by wearing different dresses and accessories.  Now days, scarves come in different designs and lengths.

Depending on the requirements and use, silk, pashmina, cashmere and other material scarves are designed and are available in different patterns, shapes, colors and looks.
